Rate Limits & Honesty
The API reports what it actually knows. Freshness, confidence and the envelope status tell you exactly how good each observation is — stale data is labelled stale, never dressed up as live.
Rate limit
60 requests per minute per API key
429 with error code RATE_LIMITED when exceeded
Back off and retry after the window resets
Freshness states
LIVE — observed very recently
RECENT — a recent observation, slightly aged
STALE — only an older observation exists
ageSeconds, observedAt and updatedAt come with it
Confidence levels
HIGH — fresh, well-corroborated observation
MEDIUM — usable but ageing signal
LOW — sparse or indirect signal
STALE_DATA responses still use HTTP 200
